About Us

Founded in late 2024 by friends Sophie and Rebecca, Craft Social began with one simple belief:

creativity brings people together.

With backgrounds in design, events and the creative industries, we wanted to create a space where crafting could feel fun, stylish, sociable and accessible to everyone, somewhere to switch off, get creative and enjoy spending time together.



What started as a love of bringing people together through creativity has now found its permanent home in the heart of Skipton.

In March, we opened the doors to Craft Social Café at 24a Newmarket Street, Skipton – and today, the café is home to everything Craft Social.



We’re a creative café where coffee, crafting and good company come together. You can pop in for a delicious coffee and a gorgeous bake, get stuck into some relaxed crafting, join one of our workshops or celebrate a special occasion with us. From sip & paint evenings and creative workshops to kids’ parties, hen dos, birthdays and private events, our aim is to make getting creative easy, relaxed and, most importantly, really good fun. Our workshops and events now take place at Craft Social Café in Skipton, where we provide all the materials, inspiration and friendly guidance you need to create something you’ll love.

Meet Sophie & Rebecca

Rebecca is a passionate painter and illustrator with more than 10 years’ experience running creative events in London for a commercial interiors company.

Sophie is a digital designer with a lifelong love of creativity. Having worked at several local pottery studios, she became something of a kids’ party pro.

Together, we’ve combined our experience, creative mum genius and love of bringing people together to create a welcoming place where you can make, chat, celebrate and connect.

Craft Social gave us such a great evening. We were provided with all the materials, guidance and advice we needed to create our own individual artwork. Becky and Sophie were such great hosts, they made the evening fun and interesting. Such a lovely idea for a girls night. Who knew we all had such skills?!

We had a really special evening with Craft Social and it was wonderful to step out of my usual comfort zone and try activities I'd never done before. Becky and Sophie knew exactly when and how to guide us and when to let our creativity flow! All of the instructions were very clear and there was a great range of equipment, allowing us to produce pieces that were functional as well as beautiful. It was really satisfying to see my creations take shape and I was delighted with the end results. I'd recommend Craft Social to anyone!

I had such a fantastic time at the Craft Social evening at my friend’s house. I’m not artistic at all and was a little nervous that it would show, but with their wonderful guidance, I created a lovely canvas that’s now hanging in my home no less! Becky and Sophie were so patient and encouraging, making the whole experience fun and stress-free. The atmosphere was relaxed, we sipped Prosecco as we painted, and I left feeling proud of what I had made—and surprisingly calm, as it was so therapeutic! I can’t wait to attend their glass and jewellery painting night next!

Noah had an amazing time at the kids' craft event hosted by Becky and Sophie from Craft Social! They really catered to his interests, letting him paint a snake and make a custom sign for his room.
